:wall: It is cold in the house... Very Cold. All the windows are drafty and huge, the house is not insulated and is all that plaster stuff. :wall: We would like to know what the most cost effective way to insulate the house would be. Should we rip all the walls down and put up drywall with insulation? should we blow in insulation and what would the cost be for that? Should we insulate the basement? Oh so many question!!! What would be the best thing to start with.
Windows? thirteen of them all around seven feet tall by four feet. HUGE!!!
Furnace? small electric forced air $500 a month
Basement? insulate it?
Drywall? Insulate the house either replacing the plaster walls with drywall and insulating or blowing insulatiion.
Can we cover the plaster with drywall? is that bad?
What are the estimated costs of all of this?

I was just checking to see if you had come up with a way to address your "old house issues?" I am currently building a log house in N. Idaho, and will have alot of the same issues that you have as it gets pretty chilly here. Are you doing any of your heating with wood? Is propane readily available in your area?
