I am converting 3/4 of a 1-car garage to a work shop. The other 1/4 is where the washer/dryer are and we will use that as a pantry too.

There is a storage area above the garage and there is some insulation over the area where the family room powder is connected but otherwise there is nothing in the ceiling.

I was going to use R22 unfaced insulation over the 1/4 area but am actually thinking of insulating the whole garage. I am also considering a propane wall heater for the work area in the garage. Not sure if this is a good idea. Your opinions?

I will also be building a wall (about 11 feet with a door) and will need to insulate that. What should I use there?

Do I need to consider a vapor barrier? Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Pete :)
