I am remodeling a powder room. I have a new toilet and have installed new ceramic tile flooring around the existing toilet flange. Now that I'm ready to install the toilet, I find that the width of the flange in it's interior is 5 inches, i.e. the radius is 2.5 inches. I can't find a wax gasket for anything other than a 3 or 4 inch flange. I guess one option is to replace the flange with a 4 inch one but that would require me to rip up part of the newly finished tile floor and a fitting to go from the 5 inch sewer line to the flange. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

emilysam1, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
30 years and I have never seen a 5" closet flange. Check the diameter of a wax seal for a 4" flange. If the flange was indeed 5", the flange bolts would not line up with the holes in the toilet. Please check this out. Good luck. Please post back if I am wrong.
You may also want to measure the distance accross the flange from slot to slot and then measure the holes in the toilet base to make sure they are the same distance.
