Just about to turn in, when I notice water dripped underneath tank. I touch a screw and seems that triggered a steady but thin flow of water. It appears the tank is slowly draining and the screw I touched is missing a hard plastic fastener its other mate has.

Can I do anything but sit up for the next hours emptying dishpan as it fills? Can anyone help? I am moderately adept with tools (unafraid to use) but not very experienced. I can see the corresonding screw by lifting the tank lid. Is there anything I can do to "plug" this end?

thank you thank you :alarm: :alarm:

Easy fix. Just shut off water supply to toilet. Then the bolts that hold tank to toilet are removed with screwdriver and socket below on the nut to stop it from turning. Replacement bolts from hardware store. About 5$ or so.Those bolts can rust out if not brass. Mine was steel which is how i learned.
