Our bath exhaust fan has started to make a racket.

Probably because my mother in law goes to the bathroom like 25 times a day! (Yes, 25 flushes too- you should see the water bill!)

Anyway I took it apart today and cleaned it all out. It seemed like the squirrel fan assembly , attached to the motor shaft is wiggling. After I put it back, it still makes a racket but sounds a little different. Hopefully there is something I can do to fix this one. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

zokvus6,

Sounds like an older unit. You can either see a plumbing parts store or appliance parts store and replace the motor. These are not repairable. Other option is to replace the exhaust fan with one more modern and quieter. Check with Home Depot or Lowes on a new fan - it's not that expensive.

Good Luck!
