PLEASE HELP!!
I have a 6 ft high one piece fiberglas tub/shower surround. The faucets are the old fashioned washer type, and I am sick of having to replace the washer/seat every few months. I want to replace the entire faucet with a washerless type, but I have no idea how to get at the connections without tearing up the shower surround. The house was built by a father for his daughter, and I guess he didn't really know what he was doing. The wall behind the head of the tub is the dividing wall between the bath and kitchen. The other side of this wall has kitchen cabinets, with a dead space in the corner directly behind the faucet. There is no way I can go through the wall without tearing out my wife's kitchen counter and sink. If there is anyone out there that has tackled this problem before, or that has any suggestions, PLEASE HELP!! I am at my wits end. :wall:

haroldp, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
You are in that proverbial "rock and a hard spot". What you may want to look for is a replacement faucet/valve set-up that has a large coverplate. I saw one of these used on a home improvement show and it provides enough space to change out the old valve and handles and the new cover goes over the hole. Other than attacking the kitchen cupboards, I think you will have to do it this way. The one I saw was used in a tile shower and it worked and looked quite nice. Good luck.
