In a small older home with no free floor space, what is the smallest possible 1/2 bath (toliet and sink) floor space required? Better yet, can I build one in a 3x4 ft floor space? How about 30" x 5 ft? I've seen 1/2 baths tucked in nooks and crannys, under stair wells, etc, in other old homes. I am not aware of any common construction codes that mandate bath floor sizes.

This bath is probably not going to get built, but to occupy my mind, I would like ponder the possibilities. I am aware of the drain and venting needs.

Lugnut,

Smallest interior dimension is 30" x 5'. This allows for door to swing in. 36" wide would be better.

I have an older (1929) home with a toilet in a former pantry closet 28 x 38. It has bi-fold door. It's not a half bath but it sure is handy when one has knees that don't like to climb the stair to the upstairs bath. Prior to my ownership they also had a small corner sink in there too.
