Our Master Bath has a full tub, but no shower. We were wondering how hard/expensive/time consuming it would be to add a shower head. We are using a faucet converter currently, but we wanted to add a fixed shower head.
Could anyone give me an estimate of the time invoved, cost involved, and work load involved?
:) ;) :D

How do 2 students buy a house?
What is on the other side of the wall with the plumbing. Hopefully a closet.

My husband and I have been careful with our money and we have saved a ton more than most people our age. In addition, my husband is a 4.0 valedictorian student at Purdue in Chemistry. He has been given tuition and stipend help. He graduates in May, and he has been awarded a full fellowship to continue his work towards a PhD. I will be done with all but two of my classes, and I will begin my job, then take the last two classes this fall.
We found a wonderfully cute little house for $50,000. With the help of a First Homebuyers Program offered by the Indiana Housing Authority, we are proud homeowners.
Sorry to make you bang your head into a brick wall, but we are proud of our maturity and hard work towards being financially stable at the age of 22. We wish more young adults would make financially wise decisions, so that everyone wouldn't look at us like we're aliens....
Thanks for asking though, really...

I suggest that your question may be better answered in the plumbing forum.
Good luck in your new home.

Often is the case that when a shower arm is not included, the tub surrounds are not waterproof. So while there are a number of configuration of rail suspended and hand held shower heads which can be readily adapted for your existing faucet, maintaining the integrity of the walls around the tub can be an ongoing concern.

Lindsay,
I'm not sure what the cost would be but what needs to be done is to open up the wall to expose the existing valve and spout assembly.
This valve would then need to be replaced with a valve assembly with a built in diverter.
To do it yourself you would need intermediate plumbing and drywall skills.
