I am removing a 6 ft slider - 2 x 6 framing & replacing with french doors. What is the size of flange for siding cut back for removal of slider?
TIA

The size of the nailing fin varies from brand to brand, but most are about 1 3/8". If your French doors will have a brickmould on the outside, you might as well make the cut in your siding that wide. 75" is pretty standard for outside-outside brickmould.

Thank you! :) Proceeding to trim back siding to expose the flange! :)
