I have wood burning fireplace, Superior BC-36. When it was snowing, snow is coming into fireplace through flue damper. When I closed the damper, snow is accumulation on the damper and water dropping into fireplace. And in normal times, lot of cold air flowing in from damper (even it was closed) and from the louvers. Could someone please suggest me how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

vsk, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Normally the cap on the chimney would stop this from happening. They do make a chimney cap that has the damper built into it now. It makes a better seal than the built in dampers from the past. When you pull the chain it opens the damper and when closed it seals the chimney completly. This may be what you need. Good luck.

that fireplace cap with the damper is the ticket.. it also stops the darn birds from nesting in your fireplace...
