Hello everyone!
We have a limestone-faced fireplace.
I would like to mount a flat panel TV over my fireplace directly on the limestone facade. The T.V. weights around 40 pounds by itself. The wall mount brackets I have seen weigh very little, maybe around 1.5 to 4 pounds. So the total weight on the wall should be at maximum 50 pounds “over estimated”.
Should I drill into the mortar or limestone itself? How deep should the holes be?
I have read that the mounting should be at least 20 inches above the firebox and a silicone epoxy(?) should be used in the anchor holes. Am I heading in the right direction?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Thanks!
