Am looking at a leather la z boy sofa, the "forester" for $1519 and they also offer a "treatment" for $100 apparently to protect leather (they also offer this for fabric upholstrey). Also extends warranty...

Can anyone comment on what this treatment might be, is it needed, worth it, etc?

Also any comments on la z boy sofas are appreciated. Thanks.

leather is pretty much already cleanable - i can't imagine how much more further protection you'd need.....but you need to ask THEM for more details.

La-Z-Boy is a good brand.

Thanks Annette. As it turns out, the protection is actually a warranty and we did end up buying two pieces and they reduced the 5 year leather warranty to $75 per piece, we have 3 small kids so it seems like a good idea.

Because there are so many different types of leathers, finishes, and dyes used, it is always best to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning and maintaining your leather furniture. There are some leather finishes that can not be cleaned.

Thanks twelvepole. They gave us a cleaning kit with the warranty and will follow their recommendations as you have advised. I appreciate your interest.
