I am remodeling my kitchen and I want to know how to hang wallpaper on new drywall. Also, what about a wall (which is not new drywall) that is textured? Doesn't it have to be a flat surface before wallpapering? How can I tie these walls together so I can wallpaper the whole room? Thanks!

The new drywall needs to be primed with 100%acrylic latex such as KILZ Total One,KILZ 2 or Zinnser 123.As for the texture, you can hang on anything but prepasted paper will draw into all depressions. You didn't say whether the new wall joins the old wall in the middle of the room or in a corner.Either way,to cure texture and tie new to old some drywall floating is needed.I have recieved many e-mails and DIY has many posts regarding what and how to float. There is no real way to tell you how to do this online but here are some links that may be useful and if you have any further questions, get back here or to DIY patching or walls.Good luck.....Mike
