Hey guys, I have a problem thats driving me crazy, and hope you can help :wall: About a year ago I redid my mother's bathroom, then she later decided to install a new shower/tub unit. So I had to rip some wainscoting down and put it in storage. Well, while in storage it warped and the chair rails/wainscot caps are now bent and twisted. It's not severe, but enough to completly through the mitered cuts out of alignment. I need help/advice how to striaghten these pieces of wood out. I did place them in c-clamps for a month and that did not help. I have read about using hot water. The problem is some of this piece would fit in a bathtub to soak, they are too big. Maybe I could wrap them in hot towels,i dunno. I also heard about using amonia.

The pieces of wood are pine and painted with latex paint on one side, I don't know if that limits treatment options.

Thanks in Advance Kevin

Trying to straighten warped trim seems to be a waste of time. Slight warps might be removed by applying moisture to the concave side to see if the added moisture will help straighten it. I would discard the warped trim and replace it.
