I have a General Aire - Model 81 humidifier (drum style). The motor isn't working. Can I replace it with a Wait (by Air King) replacement motor? (This is the only brand available at Home Depot.) The motors are very similar. I tested the new motor - it fits and it runs. I don't know much about motors, so I'm concerned about overheating etc... ??? Please advise.

The main thing is how it turns CW or CCW and the RPM. Lots of online parts have them.
