Hello,

About 3 weeks ago, I installed an Aprilaire 600 in a very tight, 1 1/2 year old, 2 story, 3100 sq.ft. house.

Humidifier is installed on the cold air side with a 6 inch duct connecting it to the hot air side. Water line is connected to hot water supply from the water heater. Unit is powered from the 24V humidifer terminal of the Carrier furnace.

The humidistat is set to high humidity and each time the furnace comes on, I can verify that the valve opened and that hot water is flowing through the humidifier.

My automatic thermostat is set to drop the temrature in the house to about 68 degrees during the night and to raise it to about 74 degrees during the day.

The problem is this: The humidity in the house remains between 35 and 39 %. Is that typical? What can I do to raise it to around 45%?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You can try and run the fan 24/7 and see if that will help pick up the humidity some.

Wow.. 74 is pretty warm.... Must be in the warmer states??

Anyway. I wouldn't suggest having the humidty any higher than 38%, otherwise, it will condesen onyour windows, and other cool area and lead to water damage.

I run our system at 33 to 35%, at 68 for heat I am comfortable and at night down toe 60.
