Help! I have moved into a new apartment and it has some sort of textured drywall or sheetrock. It looks like wall paper but was installed pre-fabricated, wall paper covered dry wall sheets. I have no idea how to go about covering it with paint or wall paper. I need help as it clashes horribly with the rest of my furnishings!

To paint use an alkyd oil based primer. To paper use the oil primer if there is any chance the old print will show through the new paper. If there is no chance of old showing through the new you can use BITE PRIMER sold at Lowes and other superstores or R-35 sold at Sherwin-Williams.If you ever wanted to strip paper some day and paint use the oil primer because the BITE and R-35 is hard to remove and does not paint over very well.
