I just had a new Kenmore Power Miser 12 water heater installed in my home yesterday. The hot water is smelly. The owner's manual has very complicated directions about chlorinating your water pipes, replacing anode, etc., to rid rotten egg smell. I don't think that's what I'm getting -- even if I were, I would not be willing to do all that. Seems more like new appliance smell. Do you think this will go away shortly with use? The water is also filled with tiny bubbles -- looks like foam coming out. I've never before had any kind of smelly water problem with a water heater. The installer and Sears are clueless.
Thanks for any advice you may have to offer.
