I'm in the process of remodeling my basement and I'm using metal studs. My question is how do I attach my baseboards? Can I put blocks of 2 x 4's inside my sill plate track? Thanks for your help.

Yes you can . Here they just nail the base to the drywall and plate with some glue. But for there in the basement we put down a P/T 2X4 then the metal stud track not the metal on to the cement floor.

There is a line of thinking that without the p/t lumber between the concrete and metal studs, even the galvanized metal will eventually rust through. Never actually seen it happen, but some inspectors around here just expect to see the p/t lumber in contact with the concrete, anything out of the ordinary throws up a red flag for them.
