I plan to install a 42" high "Classic Railing" glass fence with metal posts that are designed to attach to a wood deck. I plan to install it on my concrete pool deck which has some slopes. The slope for the 24' fence is about 6" so that is the maximum I would have to raise one post. There is no level surfaces on the deck, so if I were to screw the posts directly on the concrete they would not point straight-up, so all of the posts will either need to be leveled or leveled and raised.
Any ideas on the best way to both raise and level the posts off the uneven concrete deck without having to cut into the concrete? I had one idea but thought there must be a better way:
1) Attach a piece of a redwood 4X4 with lag bolts and anchors to the concrete, drilling larger holes so the screws set below the surface. Use some kind of mortar and/or shims to level it before it is screwed to the concrete. Attach the metal post to the wood 4X4 block. Paint the wood white to match the color of the fence post.
