I need to get furniture down in my basement but i have an l shaped staircase the sofa is 34 inches wide can i remove 2 studs and sheetrock to get them down there? I would have to double up the end ones right ? Will i do any structural damage by doing this? Its only till i get the furniture down there then i would put the studs back.

mikhett,
Is this a load bearing wall that you want to remove the studs? This would be the only issue. If not removal and replacement would seem fine. Have someone with experience look at this first before implementing any removal.
Good Luck!

Hi
Removing 2 studs would mean removing jack and king studs of the doorway
migth be a load bearing wall i think.
I would have it check out before if it's possible
