Friends,
I have to remove this water softener from a person's house.
So when I remove it, it seems obvious to me that I should do two things :(
1) Turn off the water supply
2) Put the loop back on the pipe , so that water flows as before
ARE THERE OTHER THINGS I NEED TO DO?
Also, is there some documentation out there that would tell me how to go about doing it? If I were to ask a plumber to do it, what time estimate do you think is fair for this job?

It's rather simple to do and shouldnt take more than an hour total. You simply cut out the softener's by-pass valve and put the two lines together.
