View Full Version : Any quick fixes for a wet edge faux faux pas?

I stupidly attempted to finish a large wall w/ lots of windows/doors w/ two young children playing in the next room. I am applying a negative scrumbling in a dark color over a light base. Unfortunately, at several junctures, I was called away by screaming children who were intent on maiming each other while mommy was covered in paint. Long story short--I have about 4 deep lines of demarcation where my leading edge dried before I could get back to it. Is there any way to fix this short of starting over?

Thanks!

sorry - no idea what negative scrumbling is! what is it?

regardless - i just faux painted my bedroom over the weekend, and anywhere i couldn't fit the 2-tone Woolie paint roller (like above doors & windows), i had no other option but to freehand the finish, which i thought took quite a bit of artistic talent, if i must say so myself! ;) so, probably, that's what you'll have to do, too. fake it. if the line of demarcation is a darker area, then add more light, or vice versa. try to replicate the good areas over the bad.

nothing's quick or easy!

In The Future Try Using Flotrol Additive Or Water Base Glaze Coat To Your waterbased glaze .It Will Increase Your Drying Time (make Paint Dry Slower ), Just A Splash In A Half Gallon Of Paint Will Go A Long Way.And if you dare to, try using oil based glazes instead of water based, they are more forgiving , more subtle, and give more depth to your color.
