septic system old and bad help

I just bought a house ( foreclosed) and the septic tank is old metal looks like 5oo gal. and jury rigged with some type of addtionnal hose.... I want to add a new steel tank in the yard and add new leach lines. I want to put the line from the house into the new tank and need to know how to do this. also how many lines can i put off the new tank, and how deep should they be ? and how much crushed rock around the pipe, how big should the pipe be? any othe r info will help?

First, you need an inspection and permit from your Health Department to put in a new septic system. They should soil-test the site and custom design your system.
Installing a septic system normally isn't a DIY job, and if I were you, I would plan on getting bids from experienced, professional septic system companies.
It will have to be inspected and approved prior to burial.
