I have a deep well pump (say 200 feet) and Ambitrol holding tank.
I repaired a small leak in the pipe between the pump and the tank - upstream of the check valve (which is just before the Ambitrol tank). When it was leaking - water came out when the pump ran but after the pump cycled off - air was sucked into the pipe. So then the next time the pump started up again as we were using water we got a lot of spitting and sputtering as the air that had leaked in made its way through the house.
My question: Now that I repaired the leak do I just start up the pump?? I was wondering if I don't - after 3 weeks of leakes - have a lot of air in the tank that I need to purge? If so - how do I do it?? Will running a faucet purge it?
Thanks!!!!
