Hi,
I put some new hinges on a bedroom door (same door), but now the door gently swings open by itself. If the door is left partially open it will swing all the way open. I'm assuming this is because it's not hung level. This wasn't happening before and the new hinges are the same size and in the same position as the old ones. How do I fix this? Somebody else told me I should "peen" the hinges but I don't know what that means.
Thanks.

You're right- it is usually because the door is not plumb. You can remove the hinge pins and gently squeeze the hinge tighter with a pliers or visegrips. Drive the hinge pins out with a hammer and nail set (strike on the bottom of the hinge pin) Try squeezing the hinge just a little at first, but don't squeeze so tight that the hinge pin won't go back in! You'll probably have to lightly tap the hinges back in with a hammer.

hi
take the pin out and bend it a little bit
then place it back in the hinge
tap it down and it should work fine
