I plan on finishing some cheap wood end tables and coffee table and also an entertainment center to match. I would like to do them in white (antique) possibly with a pale blue background. The entertainment center is the typical "particle board" with a "paper" woodgrain finish. Can I seal this, as well as the tables, with Kilz or something similar and then start the "antiquing" process without loosening the glue/paste of the paper. The tables are solid wood, but came from Wal-Mart and are made in China. The wood looks like pine, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. I am new at this, but from what I read, I think I would apply the blue background over the primer first, and then the white. What method should I use for streaking so that a small amount of the blue shows through? Any tips would be appreciated.

To make the blue show through, it's a process called "Burn Throughs".
