We have an Amana Air Command hi Efficiency 90 Gas Furnace.
While running a heating cycle the burner shuts off.....then starts up again over and over (within a minute). It struggles to reach the temperature. The burner goes out and the fan keeps running. Once it reaches the desired tempurature it stays off until the next cycle is needed.
I'm sure this is a just an adjustment. A service tech showed me how to fix this years ago, but I can't remember where to make the adjustment. I think it was a burner adjustment.
Thanks,
hillbie

It sounds like the furnace may be cycling "on limit". This means the furnace is getting too hot & shutting down the burner while the heat exchanger cools somewhat. Common causes are: Dirty or otherwise restrictive air filter, closed or blocked supply or return vents, dirty fan, & dirty A/C coil.
Faulty controls can also cause the problem.
