My patio sliding glass door seems to jam all the time. I was wondering how you get the door off so you can inspect it, and what the problem might be.

Depending on your strength, this may be a one or two person job. Generally, Patio doors simply lift up (to get the rollers off of the track) and then while you have it all the way up, you can pull the bottom of the door toward you. They are just like a big slider window.
I believe one exception are Anderson patio doors, which might have a stop screwed along the top of the jamb, which must first be removed. (then the top of the door can be pulled out and lifted off the roller rail.
You probably have a roller wheel that has locked up because of a worn bearing. They can be replaced.
