Ok... now I'm really worried. I just re-read the energy article that subscribes to the Polystyrene-against-the-foundation method of insulating versus the traditional. I figured, they would know and used their method. However, upon reading the article again, they make mention of using unfaced board. I bought and used the Dow Tuff-R, which is faced on both sides. Now, my basement has been dry for months, so I'm thinking I'll be ok.
Is this cause for alarm? If a little water did come in, would it be able to dry or would it be trapped and get nasty? Is water more likely to come through the walls in the summer? The stud walls are up now, so removing the insulation is not an option. Edumic claims to have success with his plastic-against-the-wall theory... these 2 setups seem like they are very similar. Can anyone ease my mind, cuz I'm freaking out... thinking that I'll be pulling the walls down in a few years cuz of mold. Thoughts?
