2001 Whirlpool Gold washer won't agitate

I have a Whirlpool Gold washer with touch panel controls model GSX9885JQ0 that I bought in 2001. I loaded dirty laundry as usual, pressed Start, estimated time remaining displays 20 minutes. Then the FILL light blinks, water fills up the tub until full (normal up to this point). Then the WASH light blinks (also normal) BUT nothing happens... agitator does not move, no sound coming out from motor, nothing... the light just blinks there... is it a motor problem or coupler or agitator or timer or what... I researched the net the whole day but nothing on this symptom... any help would be greatly appreciated!!! HELP!! :wall:

Hi mtechnic,
- the only things I can come up with are a problem in the water level system, or the motor start switch. The fact that that the light comes on bugs me about the level switch. The motor start switch may be the place to begin. :cool:
