I have a 2" wide decorative rod that is 48" in length. The drapery treatment is stapled to the rod. There is a swag hanging down on either side & valance that hangs across the length. Only 8 inches on either end of the rod have the treatment stapled to it. The other 32" of the decorative rod shows. The fabric weight is heavy. I understand that stapling the frabric is a common method to give a draped effort but what is an installer's trick of the trade to keep the rod in place so that the area where the fabriic is stapled stays on top, out of view rather than rolling toward the front where you can see it in the room? I understand it can be done without drilling through the rod into the bracket & compromisng the rod bracket strength holding the weight or possibly cracking the wooded bracket.

I honestly don't know, but could the adhesive velcro squares be used without being seen? maybe placed on the back side of the wood pole and on the inside of the bracket? seems like that would work.....

I ended up securing eye screws to the wall & hiding metal plumbing straps on either end of the rod. With these in place I was able to wire the rod in place so it doesn't roll and the top area where the fabric is stabled onto the rod is out of site as it faces upward toward the ceiling.
