I have new wood trim in my kitchen. I do not want to just paint it. My new cupboards are a light color, and the wood trim needs to have something on it to coordinate. I do not want to cover the look of the wood up all of the way, but I want a white hint over it and I need to protect it some. Is there a certain amount of mixture of paint and water I need to get the look I am wanting?

joeassociation, Sounds like you could use a Minwax product called Pickeled Oak. This is a whitish stain that can be tinted most any way. Follow this with sand sealer, putty, lightly sand and topcoat with Minwax Polycrylic or oil based finish of your choice...Mike
