We were experiencing intermittent pilot ignition problems with our Snyder General LP furnace, and after doing some reading, decided it probably had a clogged orifice. We took apart and cleaned the burners, cleaned the orifice, vacuumed it all out, and now it starts up every time. BUT...now it makes a very loud whining/feedback kind of sound during the startup cycle. It kicks in about 30 seconds after the thermostat signals the system to start, and lasts about 45 seconds total, slowly fading away after the main blower turns on. My husband is out of town now for three weeks, so I am here with the kids and the noise is freaking me out! I can redo what we already did, and basic mechanical repairs if there is a belt that needs adjusting or if it needs to be lubricated somewhere. I also know how to turn off the power and gas supply ;) Any help is appreciated!

It could be the gas pressure.. Have you traced where excecly the noise is coming from?
