tub rough-in

My house was built about a year ago...the builder roughed in the drain for the tub in the basement. I was able to locate the pipe in the 7x11 hole in the floor. The pipe is horizontally positioned and capped.

My question is...do I need to dig the hole out and install a p-trap within the hole....or is there allready a P-trap somewhere underneath the cement slab?

You should dig out the hole enough to put in a trap.
