I have a Kitchenaid Electric Range (Selectra) Model KERI500, approx. 10 y/o. It will not bake, broil or "clean." I've checked the circuit breaker -- it's fine -- and the clock to ensure that it is not in a delayed timing self-clean mode. All four burners still work as do the electronics, ie., the clock, and other display functions that indicate mode, temperature and the like.
In looking at various forums and sites, I've gathered it might be:
a) an electronic control "board" gone bad,
b) the thermostat,
c) some sort of internal switch that needs to be reset, or
d) the heating element(s) -- although it seems unlikely that the broiling and baking coils would both go bad at the same time.
I'm not above bringing a repair tech in but I'd really like to give this a shot myself first. Any advice?
Thanks in advance.
