kenmore refrigerator side by side

kenmore model#596.9535650 seems to run for long periods of time
temperature in freezer and refrigerator are up to specs no iceing
or water leaks also door gaskets are perfect.Iwould like to know
duration of cycles or how llong should it run on an average day
unit is in a kitchen at 70 degrees.

Hi John,
- I don't know the duration of running etc, but I DO know it shouldn't run all the time. The most likely things that are causing this problem is ;
1.-a fault in the cold control. This is a part behind the temperature knob in most fridges that contains the thermostat capillary.
2. - a fault in the defrost timer ( usually down near the compressor, this isa motorised switch that mounts to a socket with 4-5 wires leading to it. :cool:
