Greeting all-
The basket hub (GE #WH45X154) on my GE washer model #WWSR3090T5WW has corroded and broken so the basket is no longer connected to the transmission shaft. Evidently GE has had a problem with these because they are no longer available. Instead you can buy a Basket Assembly (GE #WH45X170) that has a different design (and material?) hub already attached.
1st- is this common? Are there any warrantees (hidden or otherwise) or recalls?
2nd- I am attempting to see if there is any other damage to the machine but can't get the Hub Nut loose. I realize it is left handed thread but can't figure out how to keep the transmission from turning when I try to turn the nut.
Any help or suggestions that you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
