We are finishing our basement, and getting ready to install 6" can lights. I ran into an issue with one of the suspended ceilings. Because of the pipes and duct work, etc. It is almost impossible to get decent even spacing on the fixtures. Someone mentioned using the smaller low voltage pucks. If I did this, I would use central transformers in the utility closet. I saw another post talking about disdvantages of low voltage, but it did not say what they were. Can low voltage be dimmed using X-10 type controlers? How do you dim low voltage? What exactly are the dis advantages. I can mount the transformers in a room that is isolated, so they will be free to "breath".
