PLEASE HELP~! I am the wife of a hardworking stressed out man who is needing help but refuses to stop and ask for directions :) He has taken out old recessed lighting fixtures and is trying to put in new ones- without having to hire an electrician or re-wire the entire place, how can he connect the old colored wires to the new ones that are black and white? The lighting is 100watt bulbs if that matters at all (I haven't a clue- just trying to help him) Thanks to anyone who can help!!! Catalina

Sounds like he didn't pay much attention when he removed the old fixture. Start by telling us all the wires that are in the box to which he's trying to attach the light. Shut off the breaker before checking, and count all the wires of each color. I'm talking about the wires in the ceiling box, not the wires from the fixture.
