Jenn-Air refrigerator water dispenser problem

I have a Jenn-Air side-by-side refrigerator/freezer model JCD2389DES with a water/ice dispenser in the freezer door. Starting about a month ago, no water comes out of the dispenser when I press the actuator pad. It still makes the same sound as it did when it worked. I tried removing the water filter in case it was somehow slowing or blocking the water flow, and I installed the "filter bypass" instead, but that does not help. I haven't seen any water leaks on the floor under the refrigerator. The ice maker is still working, so I assume that means the water source is ok for the water dispenser too? Although the ice maker seems very slow at producing ice. Any ideas on what I can try?

- i'm not familiar with this model, will check into it. Meanwhile, take a look at the water inlet connection at back and see if it's giving an adequate supply, also if it's attached to a solenoid valve :cool:

I looked at the water inlet connection at the back, but I don't know how to check if it's giving an adequate supply. Do I disconnect it and see how fast the water flows out? Also, I'm not sure about the solenoid valve. I took these pictures in case they can be helpful in troubleshooting the problem.

Hi Tom,
- great pics, thanks. The inlet solenoid valve would be the one with the 2 green cylinders. I'm assuming the copper line goes to the cold pipe under the sink. First turn off at this point under the sink, now disconnect the copper pipe from fridge. Turn on again and observe volume of water at end of pipe. It should be quite strong. If not, the valve at connection end is bad. If flow is ok, you would have to check the inlet valve. There's possibly a screen in there that needs cleaning. :cool:

By any chance does this pic look familiar, and do you think it could be the cause of my problem? There is a plastic water line that runs along the underside of the fridge. This connector is near the lower left corner, and my two-year old had been pulling on it and pulled out one of the hoses, which I shoved back into the connector. What is this? Can I test if it's working ok? Could my water dispenser stop working by pulling out the hose and then pushing it back in?

Hi Tom,
-the last pic was just a pipe coupling. I don't think pulling it apart and then re-coupling could cause this problem. There has to be some kind of obstruction in the dispenser valve or the control switch. :cool:
