Or losing my mind, whichever comes first. I have a Kenmore 14416 humidifer, 4.75 gallons, which someone else took apart for me last year in order to clean and dry out. The problem: I can't find my instruction manual, and I can't figure out how and where to install new filters! I must be doing something wrong, because when I put them where I think they should go, they just plop down into the water at the bottom when I put the top back on.
I've seriously tried everything and have gone through a box of filters trying to figure this out, with no luck. I assume that without the filters, the thing doesn't actually humidify, does it? Does anyone have any tips or know where there's an instruction manual online? Had no luck finding that, either.
Thanks so much!!

I looked around, and Sears isn't letting me see parts break down...
I am guessing there should be some type of float that floats the pad/filter on the water so the air can flow though it.
I'll keep looking around see if I can find anything.

Thanks - I appreciate the effort! I actually tracked down and asked the person who took it apart, and he couldn't figure it out either...and he's a very handy-ish type of person. Maybe this'll teach me to keep better track of those instruction manuals, sigh.
Anyway, thanks again!

Ok, I gotten no where.. Sears is pretty tight about parts break down..
Only thing you can do is go to sears itself, and look for the display set up, and see what it has where you may not have? Or ask a sales person.

Okay, thanks for trying! That's a good idea - I'll just go to Sears when I have a chance and take a look at the darn thing. I'll post what I find out in case anyone else comes along and has a similar question.
