We have a three year old whirlpool gold dishwasher; we recently noticed that the heating element on the bottom was broken in half. I have purchased a new heating element and am ready to install it -- just am wondering if anyone has any recommendations or instructions on how to best going about the reinstall. I have not removed the old element as i am not certain if it is screwed in or held in place with a nut. Do i need to remove the dishwasher from under the countertop to repair it?

I appreciate any and all guidance.

Hi Cstep,
- i haven't done an element on this one, but most are mounted from the inside and locked in place with a nut on each terminal underneath the tub. You will definitely need to pull it out to do this. Make sure you unplug it and get a helper to guide the drain and supply pipe out and later back in. ( Many a good job has been screwed by kinking a line while pushing back in place)

Do it Right - Do it once.
