I am trying to salvage old floorboards...someone stuck tiles directly onto floorboards instead of putting a layer between. Is there a way to get these off easily? thanks for any help.

I don't think demo and easy go together. My experience shows tile doesn't stick to wood very well. They probably will just pop up. If not then break them with a hammer and pop up small pieces. If the area isn't too large then it shouldn't take too long. Turn the radio up and have at it.
Good luck

If you are trying to remove the remaining glue from the floorboards, there is a gel called gojo that you can apply a thin layer then let it set for 30min to an hr. After that drag a putty knife (do not push it) and it should take the glue off. But to get the tiles up safely, I'd imagine you'd have to re-heat that glue.
