I have a 3 year old Roper direct drive top load washer. I recently took it apart to fix it and was able to resolve the problem. I created a new problem however. Now when it spins it bangs very loudly. All cycles complete. I am fairly certain that the suspension springs and rear counter spring were reattached correctly. The washer is very well leveled and the cabinet is securely fastened. The underside of the outer bucket has two plastic prongs or extensions.. I am uncertain about the position of these and also their purpose. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi sneech,
-this is one of those really obscure things that only a person 'on-site' can resolve. I would take the cover off enough to see the drum and rotate it by hand first .

Do it Right - Do it once.

I turned the washer on its side when I originally worked on it. I have turned the drum by hand and it turns smoothly without any noticeable problems. I am baffled as to what the problem might be. I bought a manual for this machine and also have checked the web and can't find any additional info that would help me. Thanks in advance for any help at all.
