I installed a aprilaire 600, the install is perfect...according to the instructions.
I can not get my humidity up past 20%.
The unit is running, i'm getting water inside the unit, i'm getting air flow, the house is only 2800 sqft, is the unit is big enough.
On Manual Mode I have the setting at 7, which is the highest, inside temp is 74 deg, outside temp 10 deg......humidity 15-20%, any suggestions on how to get a higher humidity out of this thing, we can turn a lamp on with the amount of static we have.
:wall:
thanks

Couple of question on the house itself.
How old is it?
How are the windows and doors? Drafty?
Do you have fresh air tied into the return itself?
How often does the furnace itself run?

House that new you shouldn't have any problem getting it up.
How long does thr furnace itself run?
Some time when the furnace is over sized, it don't run enough to allow the humidifier run..
Has the pad been replaced?

One more question. It is kind of cold outside and if I'm wrong correct me the humidity at this outside temp 10F shoul be about 25 - 30%. Do you have condensation on the windows (skylights if any)? in my house the one reason that humidity cannot go above 30-35% (at 20F outside) is that humidity over this level get condensated on the skilights and windows.

My furn. comes on about every 15-20 min, and runs for about 5 min when the outside temp is between 10-20f deg. I took the pad out, and like I said the unit is only 2 months old, the pad seem to look ok, no calcuim build up, you can still see though it. With the front cover off, and the unit running, water is running though the front of the pad, and excess water is running out the hose on the bottom. But still dry, and no moisture on windows with the control pad set at 7.

The 5 min run time is not enough.. Sounds like you have an over sized system. When it's not running enough, the humidfier will not do anything when it's not running.. Depends on how it's wired up, you can turn the fan "ON" and run it all times, and then the humidfier will do something..
My system is sized right, and it runs about 20 mins.

Might check and see if you have an adjustable heat anticipator there on the tstat and push it up a little to make the furnace run a bit longer. Also you sure the bypass damper is open and you are getting a good air flow. From the heat duct to the humidifier.
