Hi masaillini,
- I would carefully cut away the coating just around the tear and re-seal it with something like 'Plumber's Goop' -available at most good hardware stores. This may last a long time, and will at least protect from rust until you find if Maytag has a touch -up bottle for this purpose. I think they used to .

Do it Right - Do it once.

Another product, though it may be the same as Plumber's Goop, is a rubberized coating that can be used. It's marketed to coat tool handles by dipping in the can.

If you cannot repair the existing coating, you may be able to find a small bottle of appliance touch-up paint. Good luck.
