cones on a pair of AR speakers are shot

I've got a nice pair of AR bookshelf speakers I bought 20 years ago. I put them in storage and now the cones have deteriorated. I'd hate to throw them out since at the time they were expensive and they sounded great. Can I replace the cones myself or does it have to be sent out.thanks, JB

There are many stereo shops that will recone speakers. Otherwise you can buy new drivers at Radio Shack or online at www.partsexpress.com
