Tv went out

I have a 20 inch RCA console TV. For the past few weeks I have been hearing the TV making popping noises, every so often. The other day it had been popping then final just turned off, no whining, hissing, or anything. It's like the TV is off, but won't turn back on. I had read somewhere this could be due to dust accumulation and arcing, and I was thinking it could possibly have blown a fuse. Does this make sense, or is there another problem that is causing this. Any help would be appreciated, as I would like to get this fixed.

I doubt it was dust causing it. It may be a fuse, but not very likely if it was popping before it went out. If the fuse is blown, it will probably still pop if you replace it.
