i have this dryer for a year and the worenty is over. what the problem was, the circuit breaker keeped tripen. wife told me she was just using the dryer. hmmm.. moved the dryer to another location seeing that nothing apiered to be wrong. a month passes and i came home to see the bedroom light and pc was off. wife said she was only using the dryer... hhhmmm, told her to go use the coin op.. she persisted i do something about it.
ok this should be simple right. clues turn on dryer, normal. open door, not normal. the coils was still glowing red w/the door open. was it a thermostat. checked continuity good. same on coil. hmmm don't get it. so i turn on and check volt's all look's good.
i was looking at the problem others were haveing with there kenmore dryers on this web site www.doityourself.com. I felt that it was eather the thermostat or the coils on my dryer and needed to check further. well i already did a meter check and now i needed to look at the parts more physically. so i started with the coil. two screws later. and a great surprize was looking me square in the face.
a peace of wire logded in the coil and a coil was touching another. false readings. " note: i am not an electrition" no wonder continuaity was ok. the coil was touching and the wire was not grounding. just shortening the length of the coil wires. i remove the wire and straitend out the coil. making sure that all was picter perfect. " i noted that i need to get another coil(heating element).
if it was not for this site i would not have thought to look more closely at my problem. the curcuit breaker stoped triping and my weary eye keeps a good look at the dryer to see if any other changes happen to that coil. but all is well.
i looked at my volts meter agian and found that the reading was not the same as before. but looking at what was happening i would say that the curent and volts were changed at the coil. changing the nature of the coils. and other curcuits.
getting an action of the coils heatting up sooner and the thermostat closeing the curcuit every time it get to hot. when the dry was used before the problem was fixed. it was harder for the coil chamber to get so hot so fast and the amount of curent would then trip the breaker. with the dryer door opened you could see a red glow. and every 30 secounds or so the coil would heat up and cut off.
thank's to those who come to this site and ask questions and those who answered them. you helped me help myself. :)

Hi snowcatman,
- thanks very much for taking the time to explain that unusual problem for us. This proves that a good handyman who looks for the oddball thing can fix complicated machinery as well as an electrician.
I am going to save your answer in my book of unusual problems, thanks again.
